TEAM

Matt has been involved in investment real estate, specifically the multifamily sector, for two decades. After receiving a finance degree from the University of Illinois, Matt spent the first half of his career representing sellers of Chicago multifamily properties and quickly became one of the top producers and trusted brokers in city.
During the Great Recession, Matt represented several private equity funds, middle market banks, and venture funds in transitioning work-out assets to cash flowing properties. This experience led to a strategic career transition from the “sell-side” to the “buy-side” - joining Pangea Properties (REIT) to co-lead acquisitions nationwide.
At Pangea, over a three year period, the team closed both fee simple and note purchases of distressed assets throughout the Midwest. Under Matt's leadership, the firm's multifamily portfolio grew to over 12,000 apartments.
At market stabilization, CA Ventures offered Matt a launchpad into large scale national development and institutional investment management. Matt was responsible for pipeline strategy and execution for the firm's U.S. residential practice.
Matt founded Wildwood Investments LLC in 2020. The firm combines development, investment and advisory capabilities with an unprecedented level of diligence and thoughtfulness that results in optimal results for owners and investors alike.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Matt has been instrumental in supporting real estate education at his alma mater, the University of Illinois Gies College of Business. He helps students gain critical real-world experience by working with them as a “client” in an investment simulation wherein students analyze Wildwood assets and acquisitions to provide an independent opinion of value. Matt is actively involved in Chicago’s real estate community as a member of the Lincoln Park Builders Club (LPBC) and as a Board Member of the Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance (NBOA), where he contributes to advancing responsible ownership and development across the city.
